Hesed gets a tree

A couple weeks before Christmas, the whole Hesed clan (minus Matt and Kristin who are in New Zealand!) went to get a Christmas tree. Here are the pics! Though somehow there are no pics of the actual tree. Oops.

Riding on the wagon out to the trees with Greg and Amelia. It was quite chilly.

Winter weather bundling

Now that winter has come upon Chicago with full force (single digit temps), the time has come for some serious bundling and some serious cuteness to go along with it.

All ready to go out. The super warm pink suit is from grandma and the scarf is made by grandma. Someone wanted to make sure this baby was warm.

Waiting for the train at our pink line California stop. You have to be super bundled to withstand the cold winds at the El stations.

Asleep on the train.

Visiting Christkindlmarket downtown. Satchel was a big hit. Everyone wanted to stop and take a look at the cute bundle strapped to the front of Matt.

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving in South Bend at Matt's sister, Michelle, and her husband, Jeff's place and then travelled on to Toledo to see my family. It was a busy weekend, but we had a great time. Here's some photos from the weekend.

Some four month milestones

We have a few more milestones to share now that Satchel is four months old.

Satchel can now finally get her foot in her mouth. She's been working on this for weeks.

First solid foods - rice cereal, bananas, and carrots so far.

Not so sure she likes it.

And........rolling over back to front!

Check out the drool.

Warm days in November

We've been really lucky to get some unseasonably warm days in November. A couple of weekends ago we took advantage of one such sunny warm day and spent it at the lake.

Crinkle Chicken

Satchel has a new favorite toy. Yet another hand-me-down from David and Vanessa. We call him crinkle chicken because many of his parts make a delightful crinkling noise when you squeeze them. He also squeeks much to Satchel's delight. Satchel mostly prefers to try to eat crinkle chicken.

Yellow giraffe is also a favorite to gaze at.

First Halloween

Satchel's first Halloween. She didn't trick-or-treat this year. Maybe in a couple of years.

Check out her smile! Also notice her black cat slippers. They meow and light up when you press the nose.

Visit from Grandpa Mike

Satchel's Grandpa Mike and Ted visited a couple of weeks ago. We didn't take many photos, but here's one of the best ones.

Mini vacation

Sorry about taking a bit of a break. Here are some photos from the mini-vacation that Matt, Satchel, and I took to Saugatuck, MI.

Saugatuck Dunes

Bundled up in the pink bear suit nestled among the grasses to break the wind.

We found this seal washed up on the shore.

Random tree swing we found on a nature hike.

Bear hat.

Favorite toys: wrist pig rattle and plastic cube with all sorts of do-dads hanging off of it (from David and Vanessa)
