Swimming Pool!

The past couple of weeks, we've had some pretty hot days, so we busted out the baby pool that Greg and Amelia got for Satchel. She loves it, unless you turn the hose on too hard.

Playing in the garden at Wicker Park Grace

A few weeks ago we had a flea market at Wicker Park Grace. Satchel's favorite part by far was digging in the dirt of the raised organic garden beds.

A very dirty rear and dirty feet.

Satchel wanted so badly to "help" with the garden (i.e. pull out each of the sprouts one by one).

Here's a little video of her dancing and "helping".

A visit to Iowa

A couple of months ago we paid a visit to Jesse in Ames, Iowa. We had a really good time. Here's some photos from the visit.

Hiking (it was a bit rainy) in some beautiful prairie areas outside of town.

Satchel at VISHA Days, a sort of open house/celebration for all of the departments at Iowa State. Notice that she's wearing an I'm an Agronomist sticker.

Got our photo taken with Smokey Bear outside one of the campus buildings.

Hangin out in the grass outside Jesse's apartment while the boys played basketball.

Can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks, Jesse!

A few more milestones

First tooth was felt today! A little sharp point coming out of the bottom left/front. And as if she had been waiting for the first tooth to do it, Satchel started eating Cheerios today. Finally something clicked and she realized they were for more than just playing with. Until now, she had been willing to feed them to me, but wouldn't eat any herself. Now she won't share them with me and wants them all for herself.

And now to play catch up on some photos of other recent milestones......

Satchel's first baseball game. Watching the game on opening day with Joe. Mets win!

Satchel has become very adept at the raspberries. Here's a little taste of the noise (and spray of spit) that can ensue when you get her going.

Easter - a little late

As you can see, I'm playing a bit of catch up with the blog posts. Somehow things got really busy over the past month and I haven't had time to post as often as I'd like. So here are a couple of photos from Easter. Not many photos as we were all very worried about my grandmother who was in the hospital during Easter (she's doing very well now).

Satchel's first Easter basket from Grandma Ann. She's got her tired face in this photo. Satchel is very slow to wake up in the morning. Though always cheery, she does a lot of yawning and rubbing her eyes for a while and generally has the expression that she has below for about an hour.

Sporting her new homemade sweater from Grandma Ann. It fit perfectly!

Satchel loves to swing.

Swinging in the park near our house. If there was sound to go with the photos, you would hear her giggling away with glee.
