Visit to Rochester

We did some epic traveling to see all of our relatives for the week of Satchel's birthday. One of our first stops was Rochester to visit grandpas Mike and Ted.

Our first stop was food, of course. Delicious pan-Asian food. Satchel ate a ton of rice and cucumber slices.

The next day we went to the Rochester Zoo and got to see some neat birds very close up.

Next stop was more food. Ice cream (Abbott's frozen custard!) this time - Satchel's first ice cream! She loved it instantly and could not get enough of it in her mouth and also all over her face.

Once all sticky with ice cream, we played in the sand by lake Ontario.

BBQ at the grandpas' house.

Satchel decided that she would like to have Ted's raspberry tea.

Summer in the City

Here's some shots of the fun outings we've had in Chicago this summer. Many involve water as it's been really really hot.

Hanging out at the lake with NaYoung and baby Kaya (one month younger than Satchel)

Satchel has discovered that it's fun to look out the window while riding on the train.

At the Millenium Park fountain.

At the Lincoln Park Zoo with my friends from nursing school, Carol and Henry.

Satchel has become very interested in seeing what everyone is doing. Here she is watching Uncle Matt clean the bathtub.

Visit to Ohio

I've gotten behind and am playing catch up here. A little over a month ago, I went with Satchel and Mark to Ohio to visit my family and got some wonderful shots of Satchel with her grandparents, great grandma, great aunt, and uncle Mark.

With Great Grandma (look at those two devilish grins)

With Great Aunt Barb (showing off how well she does her bottle all by herself)

Visit from the Aunties and Uncle Jeff

After a few weeks hiatus, we're back! We've been traveling a lot and having lots of visits from friends and family. Auntie Meredith and Michelle visited last month with Uncle Jeff. The visit started with a few unexpected gifts (and a month before Satchel's first birthday!).

Squirty fish for the bathtub! Satchel loves these things.

Checking out the gifts together - a couple of books from Aunt Meredith and Aunt Michelle. Appropriate to their areas of interest, Michelle got Satchel a book about a spider and a fly and Meredith got Satchel a book about an apostrophe.

Waiting to be seated at a restaurant downtown after perusing the book fair.

Hamming it up with Auntie Michelle.

Hanging out with Uncle Jeff - always a favorite.

We found this strange eyeball postcard thing advertising a new sculpture of a giant eyeball that is going to be created in Chicago.

And what else do you really do with an eyeball postcard but play peekaboo with it?

A visit to Minneapolis

Several weeks ago we paid a visit to Andy and Sarah and Zebulon in St Peter, just outside Minneapolis. We also saw our college friends, Marie and Bill, but sadly did not take any photos of our time with them.

We played at the Tree-mendous Playground

We went for a pretty impressive hike at a local park considering that we were pushing strollers. Here we are fording a creek.

Swimming Pool!

The past couple of weeks, we've had some pretty hot days, so we busted out the baby pool that Greg and Amelia got for Satchel. She loves it, unless you turn the hose on too hard.
